Ana initially worked as a nurse in her homeland Brazil, where she specialized in the areas of intensive care, post cardiac surgery and women’s health. While living in New Zealand she trained in Sports Massage therapy, Reiki and Bach Flower Remedies and developed an interest for manual therapies. After relocating to the UK Ana went on to study osteopathic medicine and graduated from The British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in 2004, following with a Masters in Paediatric Osteopathy.
During Ana’s career she developed various interests and embarked on a series of postgraduate courses.
She specializes in the treatment of pre and post-partum mothers, babies, and children of all ages, the elderly and sports injury. Ana is comfortable working with a vast range of techniques from Structural to Cranial Osteopathy, Western Acupuncture, Ergonomic and Biomechanical Body Realignment and she has completed a Neuro-Linguist Practitioner training and a Franklin Method teacher training and is currently
developing workshops to teach the general public how to improve the use of their body.
Ana has a special interest in Naturopathic Medicine and thinks that for the optimization of the great interaction between physiology and anatomy of a human body, a better understanding of how we function is necessary. She believes that to create changes of any kind, one needs to be aware of what is happening to make a conscious decision on what may or may not need to be modified.
Ana’s experience comes from a range of multi-disciplinary clinics that she worked throughout her career like the Active Birth Centre, the Osteopathic Centre for Children, The Smart Clinics and is currently working at The Practice Integrated Physiotherapy and Pilates
